ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC WANTS ANTONIO CONTE TO MANAGE MILAN
Milan’s candidacy to hire Antonio Conte as manager has been backed heavily to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Pioli has been linked with the possibility of leaving Milan at the end of the season and it seems as if it is unlikely that he would last at the club beyond this season. La Repubblica have reported that with Pioli’s job on the line, it is Conte who is the club’s current target for the next season.
Ibrahimovic is the leading figure who wants the Rossoneri to hire Conte, with the Swede’s role at the club as a consultant now increasingly strong. He is a regular at the Milanello and his voice is being heard more often than it was in the past. Ibra’s opinion is heard strongly by Gerry Cardinale and he has a good relationship with Conte.
As a result, Conte is the club’s main target for the summer but because of interest from Napoli, it will not be an easy move. The other two issues around Conte are his wages and the fact that he wants assurances in the market. He would not tolerate the exit of Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez or Rafael Leao and the likelihood that the Portuguese would become Paris Saint-Germain’s key target if Kylian Mbappe joins Real Madrid. Maignan and Hernandez have been attracting attention from other clubs.
If Conte doesn’t join, Milan’s targets would be Thiago Motta, Raffaele Palladino and Roberto de Zerbi. Jurgen Klopp could also be considered.
