PSG Open to Offloading Out-of-Favor Player Amid Arsenal Links

January 18, 2024

In the upcoming summer transfer window, Paris Saint-Germain may consider offloading one of their significant signings. Despite arriving just six months ago, Gonçalo Ramos could be placed on the transfer market.

The capital club spent €65 million for the 22-year-old to come over from SL Benfica. However, L’Equipe reports that PSG will attempt to cash in on the striker because of doubts about whether he is a good fit for their team.

Although Ramos has struggled in his first year with the Parisians, there’s still a market for the Portuguese forward. In a recent report, Arsenal could be keen on Ramos to improve their striker situation.

Ramos could serve as an alternate target later this summer for the Gunners rather than pursue Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Brentford’s Ivan Toney. Both players will likely command more than £100 million.

The English club’s board would appreciate any cost-saving opportunities in seeking someone like Ramos. It will be interesting to see if other clubs may be showing interest if PSG does put Ramos on the market.
