JUVENTUS EXPLORE JORDAN HENDERSON MOVE AMID FRUSTRATION IN EDERSON PURSUIT
An update on the ongoing efforts from Juventus to add to the club’s options in the middle of the park has been provided late on Friday.
The information comes from Gianluca Di Marzio, who has revealed that a new name is under discussion amongst Cristiano Giuntoli and co – Al-Ettifaq’s Jordan Henderson.
England international Henderson, of course, opted to leave European football behind last summer, in favour of the riches of Saudi Arabia. Disenchanted with his time in the Middle East, however, the former Liverpool man is already seeking out a return to the continent.
Dutch giants Ajax, for one, are understood to hold a keen interest in bringing Henderson in this month. But Juve, it would appear, are also exploring the parameters of a potential January deal.
As per the aforementioned Di Marzio, the Bianconeri transfer team this week made contact with Henderson’s representatives, to gauge his interest in a move to Turin.
One potential sticking point which quickly arose, however, came in the form of the length of contract likely to be on offer.
Juventus, for their part, would only be interested in bringing Henderson in on a short-term loan, for the 2nd half of the campaign.
The 33-year-old, though, is seeking an 18-month deal.
Nevertheless, negotiations between the parties are expected to continue over the coming days, in the hopes of a compromise being found.
The Old Lady’s move for Henderson, it should be noted, comes after their efforts to lure Ederson away from Atalanta were firmly rebuffed by the Bergamo club.
