MIKE MAIGNAN’S MILAN FUTURE NOT ENTIRELY CERTAIN
Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan’s future at the club isn’t entirely certain, as clubs are still keeping an eye on the France international.
Corriere della Sera have provided an update about the situation for the former Lille man, stating that while talks for a renewal have only just taken off and the player is interested in staying at the San Siro, the wage demands of the goalkeeper are above what the club can currently pay.
His entourage wants an upwards of €8 million per season in the new deal and that part of the deal has to be sorted out before an agreement is signed.
Chelsea were keen on him in the summer but Milan’s huge valuation backed them away. They continue to keep tabs on the Frenchman, but Bayern Munich are currently in pole position for the 28-year-old. Manchester United are also keeping an eye on the player from afar.
While an exit at the end of the season seems unlikely, Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani has not ruled out the possibility of a big sale in the summer. And if a contract isn’t sorted out, there remains a possibility that things could change.
