PSG now interested in signing 27-year-old Manchester United player in January

November 15, 2023

Manchester United striker Anthony Martial is thought to be a target for Paris Saint-Germain in the January transfer window.

2024 should be a year of real change at Manchester United.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe should be on board by then and we would expect to see the squad re-shaped to try and take a big step forward.

Some out-of-contract players will probably have options for another year activated; we’re thinking Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof and Hannibal Mejbri here.

Then there is Anthony Martial, who also has a one-year option in his contract but could move on in January.

Paris Saint-Germain interested in Anthony Martial

TEAMtalk claim that United don’t want to see Martial leave for nothing next summer and are now keen to sell him in January.

It’s stated that five clubs – Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Lyon, Marseille and Inter Milan – are all showing an interest in Martial.

Martial hails from Massy, just about half an hour away from PSG’s Parc des Princes home.

A move back home may well appeal to Martial, especially with PSG now seemingly collecting French players like Randal Kolo Muani, Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola and Lucas Hernandez.

Heading back to his former club Lyon may also appeal to Martial, but we can imagine PSG being his top choice if they do come calling in January.

It’s time for Martial to leave Manchester United

Martial arrived from Monaco back in 2015 and made an instant impact with a memorable goal against Liverpool.

Sadly, Martial has somewhat overstayed his welcome now and hasn’t kicked on to become the superstar many expected.

Martial has found the net just once this season, and that came in the Carabao Cup.

Now approaching 28, Martial needs to move on for the sake of his career and seek a fresh start elsewhere.

From United’s perspective, it’s time to move on from Martial – even if it means losing him for nothing next summer.

Erik ten Hag appears to like Martial but a parting of the ways is the best for everybody, allowing United to bring in a new striker to support Rasmus Hojlund.
