Jadon Sancho is approaching a significant crossroads at Manchester United; after a very public falling out with his manager Erik ten Hag and with no sign of either party backing down, an impasse means his career at Old Trafford is over as long as the Dutchman is in charge.

Things have snowballed dramatically since Sancho’s petulant swipe at the head coach on social media way back in September after Ten Hag – perhaps needlessly – called him out in a press conference for perceived under-par showings in training. Their relationship is now deemed to be damaged beyond repair, with the player training and eating away from the first-team group and refusing to apologise.

Ten Hag wants Sancho out of the club at the earliest possible opportunity, either on loan or in a permanent deal that would see United take a significant loss on the £74 million ($92m) they invested just two years ago.
