Real Madrid midfielder will sign a new contract until 2029, announcement imminent

November 1, 2023

At the time of his signing from Rennes, everyone knew Eduardo Camavinga’s high ceiling. He was rightly dubbed as one of world football’s best young midfield prodigies, leading to Real Madrid spotting his potential early.

Yet, to convert expectation to reality is difficult, more so at a club like Real Madrid. With the pressure on his shoulders and a mountain to climb, Camavinga steadily established himself as a mainstay under Carlo Ancelotti.

Now, he is almost an undisputed starter for the Italian tactician.

Renewal around the corner
According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, an official announcement of Eduardo Camavinga’s renewal with Real Madrid is imminent.

All details appear to be sorted and both parties have agreed to the terms of the deal.

As it stands, his new contract with Los Blancos will run until June 2029. His current deal runs out in the summer of 2027, and the two-year extension comes as great news to the Merengues’ faithful.

As part of his new deal, there will be a significant bump in the player’s wages and release clause as Real Madrid wish to protect him from other European clubs monitoring his situation.

The player, for his part, is committed to the project in Madrid and will likely be rewarded with an improved salary for his high-quality performances.

The point of difference

In the recent Clasico, Real Madrid were under severe pressure from Barcelona for the better part of the game.

The first half danced to Xavi Hernandez’s tunes as Los Blancos were left chasing after the ball.

Everything changed with the introduction of two players, one of whom was Camavinga. T

he youngster’s arrival onto the field with Luka Modric shifted the dynamic of the game and brought momentum back to the visitors. The rest, as they say, is history.
