Predicted Chelsea starting lineup vs Borussia Dortmund as Mauricio Pochettino deliberates debut
Chelsea face Borussia Dortmund in their final pre-season friendly of the summer at Soldier Field in Chicago as Mauricio Pochettino continues to prepare his team ahead of Liverpool
Mauricio Pochettino will select his final starting lineup of pre-season on Wednesday night against Borussia Dortmund. The Blues boss has spread minutes throughout his squad during the trip to the United States with Chelsea’s win over Fulham in the Premier League Summer Series seeing first starts for Gabriel Slonina and Mason Burstow.
Only three players in the travelling group have yet to play this summer in Noni Madueke, Eddie Beach and Lesley Ugochukwu. The former returned to training in Chicago having missed the Premier League Summer Series through injury, while Beach has been working with a large group of goalkeepers in Lucas Bergstrom, Jamie Cumming and Gabriel Slonina in addition to Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Ugochukwu was announced as having signed for the club on Tuesday, agreeing a seven-year deal with the club holding the option for a further year. Pochettino suggested that he needed to be assessed before being able to decide whether he can feature against Dortmund.
