Bayern Munich ‘planning third offer for Harry Kane’

July 22, 2023

Bayern Munich are reportedly preparing to launch a third offer for Harry Kane, with the German champions determined to sign the Tottenham Hotspur centre-forward this summer.
The 29-year-old has entered the final year of his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and is currently being heavily linked with a move away from his North London club.

Manchester United are thought to have identified the forward as their leading target earlier this year, but it soon became clear that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would not be selling to a domestic rival.

Meanwhile, talk of a potential move to Real Madrid has cooled, with Bayern emerging as the favourites to secure the England captain’s signature during the current market.

The Munich giants have allegedly already had two offers turned down for Kane, with Tottenham believed to be looking for at least £100m despite his contract situation.

According to The Times, Bayern are now planning to place a third bid on the table, which is expected to officially arrive when Spurs return from their pre-season tour at the end of the month.

Kane featured in last week’s pre-season friendly against West Ham United and is also set to be involved in his side’s second match of the summer against Leicester City on Sunday.

The forward was again in excellent form at club level during the 2022-23 campaign, finding the back of the net on 32 occasions in all competitions, including 30 Premier League goals, but Tottenham finished down in eighth position and will therefore not be in Europe next term.

Kane allegedly believes that he has a strong chance of winning the Champions League at Bayern and is ready to make the move to Allianz Arena during the summer market.

New Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou has admitted that he is “not relaxed” when it comes to Kane’s future, as the speculation linking him with an exit gathers pace.

Spurs are allegedly hopeful of convincing the Three Lions skipper to sign a new deal but that is unlikely to happen while the transfer window remains open.

Kane is believed to have recently met with Bayern head coach Thomas Tuchel at his London home to discuss a move to Allianz Arena during the summer market.

However, Bayern’s top offer thus far is thought to have been £70m, which is some way short of the valuation set by Spurs chairman Levy, as he battles to keep hold of his star player.

The German champions are prepared to spend big on a new centre-forward in the current market, having failed to sign a replacement for Robert Lewandowski during last summer’s transfer window
