Milan resume pursuit of Frattesi and Milinkovic- M Savic in bid to rebuild midfield
AC Milan must now rebuild the midfield after the sale of Sandro Tonali to Newcastle United which seems to be very close, and there are a couple of targets in mind.
According to Corriere della Sera the name that is being mentioned with the greatest insistence in ‘Operation Replace Tonali’ is that of Davide Frattesi of Sassuolo.
Tonali and Frattesi both have Giuseppe Riso as an agent, but despite this Inter are on pole position to sign the latter. Until they complete the sale of Marcelo Brozovic to Al Nassr they cannot afford the deal though.
Milan could thus hijack the operation as they have a lot of money at their disposal. A definitive agreement with Newcastle has not yet been found, but at least €80m are expected to come in and thus Frattesi’s asking price would be easy to meet.
However, the paper adds that the Rossoneri management are following Sergej Milinkovic-Savic with great attention, given he is leaving Lazio. Juventus is currently ahead of everyone, but even in this case the Rossoneri could overtake the competition thanks to the funds that will come from the sale of Tonali.
