Stade de Reims coach Will Still says he will have a “think about it” if West Ham had permission to open talks with him to replace David Moyes as manager.

The 30-year-old has been a revelation at the Stade Auguste-Delaune since being appointed in October, with his side unbeaten in 19 league games.

Still admitted [17 February] he would love to manage West Ham in the future because of his long-held love for the club, amid growing pressure on David Moyes due to the Hammers’ poor performances and dreadful position in the Premier League this season.

And speaking on talkSPORT Drive [15 March], host Andy Goldstein asked Still if he would entertain a conversation from his beloved West Ham at the end of the season.

He replied: “No, just out of respect for David Moyes, he’s still there and doing the job.”

After being pressed on the topic by Goldstein that if Moyes had been relieved of his duties and Reims had given him permission to speak to the Hammers, Still remained coy on potentially making the move to the London Stadium.

He simply stated: “I’d have a think about it.”

There is no room to put a dampener on the impressive and remarkable job Still is currently doing at Reims, considering he’s a managerial rookie and without a professional coaching license.

There’s no reason why the Hammers won’t make an approach for him this summer if they remain in the Premier League as it could prove to be a dream for him and potentially the club board.

Still is understandably keeping his cards close to his chest, but in all honesty, the 30-year-old mustn’t entertain any approaches from clubs like West Ham so soon as he has much to learn in the game before making the risky jump to the Premier League.

Many managers his age or standing have tried and failed at the weight of the pressure, and it’d be a few years till we see this bright young coach managing in the English top-flight.

For now, he’s simply got to continue his stunning managerial development in France while West Ham keep their priorities on confirming the Premier League status for next season.
