We Can’t – Liverpool Legend Stresses Importance Of Newcastle United Game

Liverpool legend John Aldridge has insisted that the Reds cannot afford to lose any of their games against fellow top four rivals if they are to mount a challenge to finish in the Champions League spots, starting with Newcastle United today.

Liverpool ended a four-game run, which included three defeats, without a win on Monday when they beat Everton 2-0 at home in the Merseyside derby.

But they are still sitting ninth in the Premier League standings and have a treacherous road ahead of them if they are to break into the top four by the end of the season.

The Reds will be travelling to St. James’ Park to take on Newcastle later today and Aldridge stressed the importance of the game for their top four hopes.

The Liverpool legend admitted that the team need to find some consistency from somewhere if they are to remain legitimate contenders for the Champions League spots.

He insisted that Jurgen Klopp’s side are in need of an unbeaten run and cannot afford defeats against their fellow top-four rivals, especially at Newcastle today.
