19-year-old Barcelona Golden Boy finally training with the ball again
FC Barcelona are currently working on recovering their best players ahead of the new campaign. Some of those players are currently away for their vacations, while others are currently injured and in recovery. To ensure their availability, Barcelona has specific rehabilitation plans for each of them.
The likes of both Pedri and Ronald Araujo are currently working to return at some point this year, and their recoveries have already started. However, one player who has been injured for quite some time is 19-year-old La Masia midfielder Gavi, whose ACL injury last year in November still frustrates Barça.
Previously, he had finally returned to training and recovering on the pitch. From cardio work to other forms of training exercises, Gavi had finally made a big step in his recovery. Now, however, it appears that he has made another massive leap that fills Barcelona up with hope.
As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, the 19-year-old Golden Boy winner has finally returned to training with the ball. In any recovery process for any given player, this is always a major step in getting them to be accustomed again to the rhythm of playing with the ball at their feet.
For Gavi, the progress that he has made since injuring the Anterior Cruciate Ligament of his right leg has been commendable. While the club is focused on ensuring his full recovery at a gradual rate, they are not willing to take any risks at all with his return to the field.
This means that while process is constant, it is not forced or done in haste. With a player as young and as promising as Gavi, it is no secret that Barcelona will do whatever it takes to help him find his best version again. Moreover, even for Hansi Flick, he will be a crucial figure.
Coupling great physicality with great technical ability, Gavi is the perfect model for the kind of football and system that Flick likes to play. For the first touches that Gavi made on the ball in his latest training session, the new Barça coach was right there to see for himself and make assessments.
